I've been having hip and lower back problems, and sitting has been awful! I tried the basic saddle stool from an online retailer - and it didn't have tilt. Very important unless you want your crotch to go to sleep. So, I ordered another one, a little more costly, with a split seat and tilt. It still felt too wide. I needed something I could adjust side-to-side. That's when I decided to bite the bullet and get this stool from Sit Healthier. It's a commitment – they don’t want you returning things. But, I'm happy to say, that this stool is "the one." It's helping my problems!
I work in an office at a desk job, and I do a combination of normal chair, saddle stool and standing at my desk. I have a sit/stand desk, too. This has been a big difference maker. At first, sitting in the saddle stool was a challenge for anything but a short period. The initial comfort was right on – just like sitting in a dressage saddle (so comfy). But, just like riding a bike or a horse for the first time in years - you're going to be sore. It will take an adjustment period and building up to longer sit times. During that time, make adjustments to ensure you have the stool exactly as you need it to relieve pressure points as best as you can. It took some dialing in, but I've got it. While I don't sit on this stool all day, I can sit for the time that I need to before changing to a standing position.
I have a bulging disk at L4/L5 and an annular tear, and this saddle stool offloads the stress from my lower back, puts me into alignment and brings me relief quickly. I'm confident that adding this to my office space has immensely helped my pain levels. Extended sit times will still be uncomfortable in the crotch - but I reposition further back on the seat when that happens. Eventually, I’ll stand and then sit on the stool again. You’ll also feel your core muscles building as you sit in good posture on this stool. It felt like I’d been working out once I worked up to longer sit times. Feels GREAT!
I opted for the leather seat - why not? It doesn't cost enough to be prohibitive, and I know how leather will wear in the long-haul if taken care of. The rest of the components are nice, and the wheels - which some people complain about - are just fine on my low-pile office carpet squares. There is no noise, and they roll fine. One of the first stools I tried had fancy wheels with bearings - and while they were zippy and smooth... I'm not having stool races and definitely didn't need to upgrade on this stool! They do what's needed!
I was nervous buying this stool (and thought at first I was regretting it), but after learning more about saddle stools, options that are really important, and how to acclimate to them - I'm really happy I did. This stool has the three options I need (height, tilt and width). I don't know how a really expensive stool could differ so much from this that it would be worth paying so much more - so I'm very satisfied. The only thing I wish they'd do is offer some cute colors (cobalt blue, red, etc), but black fits in almost anywhere.
As a new graduate from hygiene school I was on the hunt of a saddle chair that was affordable yet good quality. I am so glad I decided to go with SitHealthier because this saddle chair was wonderful. It is comfortable and has enough cushion support that helps with my ergonomic health. The doctor I work for and other fellow coworkers have complimented my chair stating that it has been the best one they have tried!
I replaced a generic, old saddle chair from a big box online location. This is much more comfortable and very well made. I use this to play VR games in my Oculus.
Two weeks of using my saddle has improved my sitting posture and decreased my hamstring tendinopathy and lumbar back pain significantly. Would 100% recommend.
Concept is great. but the unit is made of plastic and I believe a little high priced (which may come from the shipping charge). The functionality deserves a high score, the design and materials, less so. The ball is of very good quality, making it very useful.
Long time hygienist approved! Essy to get close to patient. Sturdy. Height options atr amazing. Awesome!
This chair is tall enough that I can sit with support and do most surgeries and dental procedures. My body and back can definitely tell the improvement. I am 5’5 and 125 lbs so this size is great but it would not work for a larger person. I also bought a bigger chair as well and they both are comfortable just for reference.
If you’re debating about whether or not this chair works, I’m here to tell you. It does just buy it. You’ll be so happy.
Received quickly in perfect condition - easy to assemble, high quality construction, looks beautiful and is comfortable for me to sit in - very happy with this purchase
I first bought a Salli Stool and found it to be very uncomfortable because of lack of padding. This one has just enough padding and in my opinion, is more comfortable than the Salli Stool. I just wish I could add a backrest to it. I’m a barber
I bought my chair for sewing. I had planned and designed a beautiful sewing/ craft studio, but always dreaded sitting at my sewing station, as I have severe, complicated inoperable lumbar pathology. Even 20 minutes in the old “ergonomic” chair created too much back pain! I am transitioning now and have spent 30 min in the studio without any problems. I have no problems going from sitting to standing either. It all seems to be working out! 😎🧵🪡
I got this store to help with my posture. I am 5 foot and quite top heavy. I always sit on the edge of office chairs so my provider recommended. I try a saddle stool.
I did a lot of research before purchasing this one. I wanted a stool that would last because I work from home. This store is sturdy and does not feel flimsy at all. As with any new chair or stool there is always an adjustment period needed. I personally switch between a saddle stool and a kneeling chair throughout the day. I would say it took me about 2 to 3 weeks to adjust to the stool, which is normal. The base of the saddle stool is wood which helps maintain stability and posture. My only recommendation would be to purchase the foot rest and upgrade the whees. This may just be my preference since I am on the shorter side.
** I would not use this stool on carpet. I have a tempered glass floor protector that the stool is used on to help prevent issues with posture and stability. Also I upgraded the wheels to a higher quality 2 inch wheel, which I don’t purchase from an external source.
Great chair! I was tired of have zero ab control from sitting in a plush, comfy big office chair. This has improved my posture and helped me engage my core more. I love this chair!
Bought the chair in hopes of decreasing back pain after sitting for long periods. Having only had the chair for only 2 weeks, I cannot judge on whether it is helping (yet). I can say that the chair is well made. The adjustable saddle is well padded and comfortable. Mechanisms (heigh adjustment, seat angle changes) work well. I am happy with my purchase. Hoping over time that this ends up helping back pain and posture while at sitting at my desk.
This stool has been very helpful. The saddle seat is comfortable, rolls smoothly, and the height adjustment works well. I like that the seat tilts because it makes it easier to find a good position while working. Overall, I’m happy with the purchase.
Have had problems with high desk stools not having sufficient seat padding. This chair is perfect.
Its a decent chair but not worth the price unfortunately in my opinion. Definitely buyers remorse
I have been looking for higher quality chairs of this variety for quite some time and I am very happy with how this chair looks and functions. Excellent customer service for this company as well!!
